Shop Kind No one should be abused just for doing their job.
Sussex Police supports the campaign 'ShopKind', a national campaign funded by the Home Office to help tackle the rise in verbal abuse and physical attacks on shopworkers.
This Christmas; we've been out and about supporting retail workers to help prevent retail crime and violence.
Throughout December we've been helping to improve reporting with retailers, out catching prolific offenders, and working even closer with local businesses to improve their overall security.
The campaign urges the public to be mindful of retail workers' essential role, and emphasises that we should all treat workers and customers with respect, kindness and gratitude.
We support this campaign encouraging the reporting of incidents in the retail sector, alongside operational activity.
Winter of Action patrols Officers from your local Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out and about across the district, in light of our 'Winter of Action' initiative.
Whilst patrolling the towns, residents were spoken to and though no immediate concerns were brought up, the police presence was appreciated.
Officers will continue to patrol areas in Wealden throughout the winter to tackle anti-social behaviour - do so say hello if you see us about!
